Tahriri is a distinctive style of Palestinian embroidery known for its bold couching technique and deep roots in the Bethlehem and Beit Jala regions. unlike cross-stitch-based tatreez, Tahriri features flowing, decorative lines that create curvilinear patterns.
in this workshop, you’ll explore the history and cultural significance of Tahriri embroidery, along with popular motifs traditionally stitched in this style. you'll also take part in a hands-on stitching session, perfect for beginners! by the end, you’ll leave with the foundational skills and confidence to continue practicing on your own.

Eman is a Palestinian tatreez artist and teacher based in Southern California. Through her brand, Hint of Tatreez, she celebrates the art of Palestinian embroidery by offering beginner friendly kits, apparel and accessories as well as workshops that share and preserve this cultural craft.

beginners are always welcome (encouraged!). if you’re a writer who wants to try painting or a ceramicist who wants to try poetry—or someone who just wants more art in your life—you’ll find a home at Dalal.
you can expect to always leave with something you made, plus new skills and knowledge to keep exploring at home.
all levels welcome!
no prior experience is necessary! your instructor is there to provide hands-on instruction and knowledge as you create your piece.
